The Great Pyramid of Success Challenge
February 27-March 3 is the Great Pyramid of Success Challenge Week: we challenge you to be your personal best and practice all the blocks of the pyramid and perform as many kind deeds as you can in one week. Each day of the Great Pyramid of Success Challenge wear something different to show your commitment to being the best you can be.
Monday: Star Wars Day- Show your Hard work, Skills, and Determination by dressing for your future, dress in your favorite Star Wars Character.
Tuesday: Disney Day- Celebrate your Poise and Confidence by dressing as your favorite Disney Character.
Wednesday: Happy Camper Day- Show your Cooperation, Friendship, and Enthusiasm by dressing as a happy camper or by wearing animal print.
Thursday: Show your Team Spirit, Loyalty and Self-control and Celebrate Dr. Seuss Birthday and dress as one of your favorite Dr. Seuss character.
Friday: Pokemon Day- Show your Fitness, Action, and Alertness by showing off your inner Pokemon.
The Great Pyramid of Success Challenge Checklist:

Sunny Sands students collected over 3000 books for children in Nepal! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing project! Also, congratulations goes out to Mrs. Lehmann's class who collect the most books. They collected 547 books and will be receiving a pizza party!
A special School Site Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 21st at 5:15 pm in the School Library. The District will be presenting information on the Local Control Accountability Plan and seeking input from parents and community members. All parents, staff members, community members and School Site Council Members are invited to attend.
Congratulations to all of our Sweepstakes Science Fair winners. These students will go on to present their Science Fair Projects at the District Science Fair at the end of February. Good Luck!
Sunny Sands Fifth Grade student, Kayla Matthews was recognized by the Palm Springs Leadership Association on Monday, January 23rd for her academic achievements! Congratulations!
On Friday, January 13 Sunny Sands Students' Francis Go and Aden Bambao competed in the District Spelling Bee. Francis Go came in 2nd place and will go to the County Spelling as the District's runner up on February 22, 2017. Way to go!
On Friday, December 2, 2016 Sunny Sands held its annual Spelling Bee. Fourth Grader, Francis Go came in First Place and Fifth Grader, Aden Bambao placed 2nd. Both students will represent Sunny Sands in the District Science Fair on Friday, January 13, 2017. Good Luck!
In a recent Dreambox Math contest, Mrs. Lozano's class recieved a special recognition from Dreambox on Thursday, September 22. Mrs. Lozano's class was recognized for the highest level of participation in the entire district with 99% participation rate. Each student received a special backpack with stickers, pencils and a bracelet from the Dreambox Representative, Mark D'Agostino. Way to go!
